FMI utilizes the Create MyVirtual Machine (CMVM) technology of SINUMERIK ONE to build high-fidelity digital twin models of customers' physical machine tools. Digital twins allow engineers to fully simulate machine motion, NC program execution, and machining paths in a virtual environment — verifying program correctness and eliminating potential collision risks before any actual cutting. This significantly reduces setup time, lowers trial-and-error costs, and improves overall machining efficiency and safety.
Technical Highlights
Completed Projects
Project 1: Rotor Cam Specialized Machine
Built a digital twin model for a specialized rotor camshaft machining machine, simulating multi-axis synchronized cutting motion and cam profile machining paths. NC programs were pre-validated in the virtual machine to confirm correct machining sequences and tool paths before actual cutting.

Project 2: Horizontal-Vertical Combined Machining Center
Created a digital twin for a complex horizontal-vertical combined machining center, simulating spindle switching between vertical and horizontal modes and multi-axis simultaneous machining behavior — enabling program pre-validation before machine assembly completion.

Project 3: VC AX630 5-Axis Machining Center (Vocational Training Institute)
Developed a complete digital twin model for the VC AX630 5-axis machining center (including transparent-enclosure 3D structural visualization) and produced 5-axis simultaneous motion simulation videos featuring complex curved surface machining (including pumpkin-shape surface path demonstration). Equipped with SINUMERIK controller, the digital twin shares an identical CNC kernel with the physical machine — directly applicable for operator training and NC program pre-validation.
